Anthropic adds a $200 Ultra plan with 10x Pro weekly usage

Anthropic's pricing page lists Ultra at $200 a month, with no 5-hour limit for verified accounts, $200 in API credits and Fable up to half the weekly limit.

Anthropic added a fourth individual Claude plan, Ultra, at $200 a month, with 10x the weekly usage of Pro and no 5-hour limit for verified accounts. The plan sits above Max, which is priced at $100.

Anthropic’s pricing page, read Oct. 31 at claude.com/pricing, lists Free at $0, Pro at $20 a month, Max at $100 and Ultra at $200. A version of the page that The Lab Notes saved Oct. 30 had no Ultra tier.

Ultra Adds 10x Weekly Usage and $200 in API Credits

Ultra includes everything in Max, plus 10x Pro usage every week and no 5-hour limit for verified accounts, the pricing page says. API credits for building on the Claude Platform rise to $200 a month, up from $100 on Max.

Max and Ultra are billed monthly. Annual billing exists only for Pro and Team. Pro costs $17 a month billed annually at $200 up front.

Max Is Listed at $100 With 5x Pro Usage

The Max listing differs from the saved Oct. 30 page. That version read “From $100” with 5x or 20x usage options and “$100 to $200/month in API credits.” The current page lists Max at $100 with 5x Pro usage every 5 hours and every week, plus $100 a month in API credits, which the page labels New. Anthropic’s earlier Max credits change was covered here Oct. 12.

Fable Is Included on Max and Ultra Up to Half the Weekly Limit

The page calls Fable “our top model” and lists Fable 5.1 and Fable 5. Max and Ultra include it for up to half the weekly limit, according to the FAQ.

Pro subscribers get Fable only “paid with usage credits.” The page labels that New. For a limit that has been hit, the FAQ lists waiting, moving to a higher plan or, on paid plans, turning on usage credits to keep working at standard API rates.

Our View

We read the Fable cap as the detail that separates Max from Ultra. Fable counts against half of the weekly limit, and the two plans have different weekly limits. Max is 5x Pro and Ultra is 10x Pro. If both limits are measured on the same scale, half of Ultra’s is twice half of Max’s. A Max subscriber who does most work in Fable reaches that ceiling first, on the smaller allowance.

That subscriber can turn on usage credits and pay standard API rates for Fable past the cap. Pro subscribers already pay that way. Fable on Pro runs only on usage credits. Ultra is the plan that raises the Fable ceiling itself.

For developers on Max, that raised ceiling matters only if Fable is the model they run out of first.
