Gemini apps export to Google Sites with no new admin control

Google now lets users export interactive apps from the Gemini app to a private Google Sites draft in one click, with no new admin setting.

Google now lets users export an interactive app built in the Gemini app straight to Google Sites. The app lands in a private site draft with one click. Google said admins get no new control over it.

Google announced the feature on its Workspace Updates blog on Oct. 19, 2026. It is a general rollout and available now.

One Click Moves an App Into a Site Draft

Select Export, then Google Sites, on an interactive app in the Gemini app. The app opens in Google Sites as a new draft that is private, fully interactive and ready to customize.

The draft accepts more content. The site can then be published and shared like any other Google Site. Google said this lets people share what they create in the Gemini app with their team, customers or students, with no code to copy and nothing to rebuild.

Existing Sites and Drive Policies Apply

Google said there is no new admin control for the feature. Users can export only if Google Sites is turned on for them and they are allowed to create and edit sites. Sites created this way follow the organization’s existing Google Sites and Google Drive policies.

Rollout Covers Workspace and Personal Accounts

The feature is available now to Rapid Release and Scheduled Release domains, on web, Android and iOS. It reaches Google Workspace customers, Workspace Individual subscribers and users with personal Google accounts who have access to the Gemini app.

Our View

Export works only where Google Sites is turned on and site creation is allowed. We think that leaves the decision with admins before anyone clicks Export. Existing Sites settings already set who can turn a Gemini app into a page.

An admin who limited site creation has limited this too. A team or class that wants to share an app needs a member with site-creation rights.

One-click publishing helps only where those rights already exist.
