Oracle will bring its business apps and AI agents into ChatGPT

Oracle and OpenAI announced four products, led by AI Workspace, that put Oracle software inside ChatGPT. Oracle has not dated any of them.

Oracle and OpenAI are expanding their partnership to let employees query and act in Oracle business software from inside ChatGPT. Four products are involved. Oracle has not said when any of them will be available.

The companies announced the expansion Oct. 27, 2026, at Oracle AI World in Las Vegas, DQ India reported Oct. 28 and The AI Economy reported Oct. 27. OpenAI’s news feed lists a post that day titled “OpenAI expands partnership with Oracle to bring its apps to ChatGPT.” The editors could not load OpenAI’s or Oracle’s own pages. This report relies on those two outlets.

Oracle AI Workspace Puts Oracle Software Inside ChatGPT

AI Workspace is a conversational interface that lets employees use ChatGPT, through plugins, to query and act across Oracle Fusion Applications, NetSuite, Oracle AI Database, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and other tools. Oracle’s launch blog says it is “coming soon,” DQ India reported.

OpenAI’s example is a finance employee checking costs before month-end close, DQ India reported. In that example, Oracle applications check business rules and approvals before changing records. Recommendations do not trigger actions automatically.

App Composer Builds Apps and AI Security Mesh Tests Systems

App Composer lets teams build apps with Codex and other AI tools, connect them to approved Oracle data and workflows and share them internally. Oracle manages deployment and operations on OCI. IT keeps control of access, policies, resources and costs. The AI generates APEXlang definitions that Oracle’s APEX engine runs.

AI Security Mesh is a managed service that uses OpenAI cyber models to help find and fix vulnerabilities across OCI, other clouds and on-premises systems. Customers define which systems can be tested. Agents map those systems, investigate attack paths and check whether findings reproduce. Customers review recommended fixes before retesting.

The SMB Bundle Is Free to Start but Needs Approval

Oracle AI SMB Bundle is open only to approved small and midsize businesses. Availability is limited. Per Oracle’s product page as relayed by DQ India, it includes $12,000 a year in OCI credits, renewable for up to two more years. It also includes a one-time ChatGPT credit of $50 per user for up to five users, plus free tiers of NetSuite QuickStart and Oracle App Composer. Individual benefits carry separate terms and usage limits.

U.S. Customers Can Buy OpenAI Products Through Oracle

OpenAI says U.S. Oracle customers can buy access to the OpenAI API, Codex and ChatGPT Work through Oracle Marketplace. They can use existing procurement processes and eligible Oracle Universal Credits, DQ India reported.

Oracle Has Not Dated Any of the Four Products

Oracle has not said when any of the four products will be available or what most will cost, The AI Economy reported Oct. 27. Oracle’s disclaimer warns that timing could change.

All four run only on OpenAI technology for now. Karan Batta, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure product lead, called it a “safe assumption” that others, such as Anthropic’s Claude, could be supported later. He called the launch OpenAI’s “coming-out party” for enterprise. Greg Brockman, OpenAI president and co-founder, called it an “expanded partnership.” Oracle CEO Clay Magouyrk said businesses “rely on” Oracle “to run their most critical operations.”

Our View

We think the useful detail is where the checks sit. DQ India reported that in OpenAI’s example, Oracle applications check business rules and approvals before changing a record. It also reported that a recommendation does not trigger an action automatically. For a finance employee asking about costs before month-end close, the answer arrives in the chat. A change still goes through the checks in the Oracle application. The employee still has to decide to act on what ChatGPT suggests.

That benefit depends on those checks staying in the Oracle applications when AI Workspace reaches employees. Oracle calls it “coming soon.”
